General policy

Online attendance carries the same responsibility

Attendance at scientific activities and programs through distance e-learning systems is equivalent to physical attendance in lecture halls. In line with the requirements of the Ministry of Education, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, certification for online activities is subject to the attendance and absence verification procedures set out in this policy.

Core principle Active participation verifies attendance

Rules for attending online activities

These rules apply during events and training days, across synchronous and asynchronous programs.

  1. 01

    Attendance commitment

Participants may not be absent from e-learning programs during events or training days.

  2. 02

    Required percentage

Trainees must attend at least 75% of the training hours assigned to the activity in which they are registered.

  3. 03

    Asynchronous programs

Attendance hours in asynchronous programs are equivalent to regular attendance hours.

  4. 04

    Participation during sessions

Signing in and opening the program link without responding to the trainer during discussions or questions, verbally or in writing, is treated as absence from the program for that session.

  5. 05

    Late arrival

Arriving more than 20 minutes late to a training session is recorded as absence from that session.

  6. 06

    Leaving a session

Leaving a training session before it ends and not returning is recorded as absence from the session.

Escalation path

Warning stages by absence rate

Each stage shows the action taken when the stated percentage of total course hours is exceeded.

10%
01

First warning

The trainee receives a first warning when absence exceeds 10% of the total course hours.

15%
02

Second warning

The trainee receives a second warning when absence exceeds 15% of the total course hours.

20%
03

Final warning

The trainee receives a final warning when absence exceeds 20% of the total course hours.

25%
04

Certificate ineligibility

The trainee's registration is rejected, and they are not eligible for an attendance certificate if absence exceeds 25% of the total course hours.

Important reminder

Attendance means active participation through the end

Opening the training link alone does not verify attendance. Trainees must be punctual, engage with the trainer, and remain until the session ends.
